General Info
Project: Online Multiplayer 3D/VR Fluid Mechanics Learning Environment
🎯 Mission
I offer an Online multiplayer 3D/VR learning environment (Unreal Engine), in which students, professionals, and high school students learn fluid mechanics by solving practical problems.
Call to Action: I am looking for collaborators with a love for fluid mechanics and Unreal Engine.
Vision
Based on my teaching experience, I am convinced that an online multiplayer 3D/VR learning environment—where the environment can be manipulated and effects are immediately visible—is a powerful and fun way to deepen practical knowledge.
Explanation: Practical Problems The goal is not to perform in-depth CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations. Instead, water levels, flow velocities, hydraulic gradients, etc., are calculated based on standard formulas common in Applied Sciences, such as: Bernoulli / Chezy / Manning / Pascal

👤 Background
I am a retired Lecturer in Civil Engineering (University of Applied Sciences), EdTech coach, and instructional designer with a passion for fluid mechanics, Unreal Engine, and education.
A few years ago, I started developing this environment. It has already been used for three years with varying degrees of success in the Civil Engineering program at Avans University of Applied Sciences.
🚀 Operational Goals (2026-2027)
- Expand Server Infrastructure Stable 24/7 availability of the multiplayer 3D/VR environment on independent servers (AWS/STRATO/Epic Online Services) – independent of Avans.
- Implement Multilingual Support Make interface, content, and documentation available in English, Dutch, and at least 1-2 other languages. Aimed at a global reach of bachelor students.
- Integrate AI Guidance Add AI-trained avatars (e.g., ConvAI) that provide students with real-time guidance and feedback on their problem-solving approach.
- Website & Administration Set up a platform for registration, progress monitoring, certification, and support. This is essential for scalable growth towards an international audience.
- Improve Onboarding Develop clear tutorials, guided first sessions, and community support so that new users (students, high school pupils, professionals) become productive quickly.
- Sustainable Business Model Realize a revenue model that covers server costs and software maintenance (via donations, freemium models, licenses for educational institutions, or professional training).
- Community and Partnerships Look for collaborators, a lecturer network, and educational institutions that want to use and help shape the environment.
